Statement 1
I don’t think that the big crunch should be seen as a menace, but rather as an opportunity. It’s one of these times in -history—and we have plenty of examples from the past—where it’s possible to really make a difference. And if art is serious about claiming a central role in today’s society and culture, this is the best chance it’s had in ages. The current climate doesn’t represent a threat to the production of art but to the market. I think it’s time for artists to get over auction houses, galleries, and high-production-value exhibitions and start using our voices again.
Statement 2
As an artist I am engaged in the social role of the artist and the development of critical “artistic practice” as cultural resistance. Work that encourages the audience to get down with the art and become an integral part of it in the process inspires me. I am stimulated by art work that dissolves the tenuous boundaries between viewer and participant, inviting the audience to interact, engage and enjoy—as if it weren’t a formal exhibition at all, but a gathering of friends, sharing stories and temporarily escaping the pervasively isolated nature of contemporary life. Work that embodies a lifestyle allowing for a chance of interactions and fraying of the seams between art and life is what guides me in my studio practice. For me Art is a big discovery process and making art is like a long amusing journey that will never end, only will get more fascinating.
Statement 3
My Art combined and synthesized the work of many diverse specialized fields in order to engage today’s world of science and technology, politics, global markets, and ecology.
I’m interested in work that catches you unawares- the audience may not plan to be an audience but is becomes one unintentionally. This way I construct a shared environment in which the audience becomes a participant artist in a designated space. By opening up the audience to take part in my art, the art world suddenly acquires social meaning and value. Working with the community my vision is to transform audience’s awareness of their environment and culture and generating interaction and communication in public spaces.
Statement 4
In a time when freedom from community, freedom from obligation to the world and freedom from relatedness is central part of our society, I would like to introduce a new paradigm which involved a significant shift from individualism to relationships. I would like to have a big appreciation for meaningful ritual, and not to become addicted to the experience of the principles of manic production and consumption. I would like to extend our sensitivity to moral and spiritual issue, and being responsive and comical artist is always a good alternative.
